MUSICIANS & INSTRUMENTS
Octavie Dostaler-Lalonde, cello by Thomas Dodd (1800); classical bow by Kees van Hemert
Artem Belogurov, fortepiano by Gerard Tuinman: copy of Stein fortepiano (1783), action with bare wooden hammers
Both instruments are on loan from the Dutch Nationaal Muziekinstrumenten Fonds
Recorded in November 2019 at Akerendam, in Beverwijk, NL
The expressive fingerings used by Octavie for this performance are based on research on the use of portamento at the turn of the 18th century, more specifically in Beethoven’s circle.
